What is the OTHER GOSPEL to which Paul is referring?

If there isnt another gospel to be concerned about, then to what is Paul referring?

Isnt he preaching the same gospel as Peter was, as our opponents believe? Or is he actually preaching a NEW gospel , and is warning us NOT to go back to the gospel that WAS good news to the hearers in times PAST?

Why is it so hard for people to believe that God gave NEW instructions? Didnt He do this all throughout history? Did Noah have the same information as Abraham? Does Peter follow Noahs instructions? Did God make a marriage covenant and vow with Cain and Abel?   What say YOU?

It shouldn't be a taboo subject....in fact, it is something God thinks is critical to our understanding His plan and program for TODAY, so that we can cooperate with Him IN IT.

I will start with this:

Which Church are YOU a part of?


Scripture Reading: Ephesians 1:22, 23

Many Christians believe that every time the word "church" appears in Scripture, it refers to the same thing. This is unfortunate, for this thinking has led to much error and confusion.



The fact is, THREE "CHURCHES" can be distinguished in Scripture.

The first church we find in the Bible is "the church in the wilderness" (Act 7: 38).

 This was the Old Testament congregation of Israel. Some would object to calling Israel a church, but this is exactly what the Holy Spirit calls her. In fact, the Hebrew word for "congregation", found numerous times in the Old Testament, is equivalent to the Greek word for "church" (see Psalm 22:22 & Hebrews 2:12). Yet, the Old Testament Israelite church is not the church of today.

The next church we read of in Scripture is yet future.

Christ spoke of it in Matthew 16:18 where Christ told Peter, "I will build my church; and the gates of Hell (Gk. 'hades') shall not prevail against it." This church is still future, for it is begun with a resurrected people. The "gates of hades" is not a reference to Satan's forces, as many teach, but a reference to the entrance (and exit) of the place of the dead (cf. Isaiah 38:10 where "gates of the grave" is literally "the gates of sheol" - sheol being the Hebrew equivalent to the Greek hades).

The third church is the church of today.

Paul calls it "the Church which is His body" (Ephesians 1:22, 23). All true believers today are members of the Body of Christ, the one true Church in this dispensation of grace. Are you a member of this Church?

C. IT WAS A HOLY NATION, A PECULIAR TREASURE, A KINGDOM OF PRIESTS

Exodus 19:5-6Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.


D. REDEEMED BY BLOOD OF LAMB

Exodus 12:3-7 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. 7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

I can surely see what you are saying, and I agree with you. Could it, at the same time, be talking also of doctrines, such as the beliefs of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Latter Day Saints, since it does say ANY other doctrine? Just a thought.....guess I am thinking out loud.

Of course! However, those are the easy ones to determine. Its the one's who claim to be "mainline Christianity", but who mix and teach the those mixed up doctrines with NO distinction from the pulpit to an unsuspecting and unstudied audience, that are the real danger here. Do you know that many have heard and understood the doctrines of Paul and refuse to teach it in THEIR church...why? Because everyone is so soaked in the mixed up doctrine of "religion" and "denomination" that if they preached the truth they would lose their congregation ie: MONEY$$$$$$$.

Is that not a sad commentary? When I came to right division is when I really saw how wide spread the problem is. Most churches are preaching the "gospel of a different kind" *HETEROS in the greek from the pulpit. NOT the gospel of OUR salvation, but that which God set aside two thousand years ago. They have NO Idea that God has given information to  Paul that supercedes Peters gospel. So they mix away, and we have a homogenized gospel with NO power to save anyone, but dang, it sure looks and sounds "spiritual" cuz its "IN THE BIBLE!."

Lots of things are "IN THE BIBLE", but not all of it is written TO and ABOUT us!

Yeppers...and they are PROUD OF IT! 

The hardest three words for we humans to say are : "I WAS WRONG!"  However, they CAN be the most liberating!
