Thanks Mac,
I'm looking forward to sharing this web site with you, Trent and the other grace believers.  I believe this forum will be a great asset in discussing the contrast between religion in general and "THE Faith" depicted in the scriptures.  For everyone who seeks the truth, this site already provides information that will make the journey much easier.  I wish there had been such a resource as this when I was struggling with many of the confusing issues of scripture.  I hope that I will be of assistance in helping  others to find "THE Faith" for themselves.

"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"    (2 Corinthians 13:5)

You will probably notice that most of my interaction concerns salvation.  The most learned and lettered theologians cannot find common ground concerning this most basic Christian doctrine and consequently, neither do the many churches they influence.  Since the Christian society cannot seem to move beyond the salvation issue, this is where I have sought to spend most of my energy.

I have somewhat of a great compassion for atheists, agnostics, skeptics and lost people in general because that was the background that I came from and I understand what an almost insurmountable task it is for a lost person to seek out and find the requirements to be saved in THE faith.  Many of their arguments are directed, not just to harass the believers but they are often hoping that the answer to their accusations might be somehow convincing.   Many would LIKE to believe in a benevolent God but the contradictions they hear from all the false teachers make them understandably apprehensive.

When the lost person decides to seek if there is any substance to a genuine God, His Word and the condition of man's soul, each one must try to determine:  "Who is a Christian"? "How is a Christian saved"? "What must a Christian do to remain saved"? "How is a man made righteous"?  "Did God decide He hated me before I was born"?  "If I'm not able to live the Christian life and consequently, lose my salvation, am I then forever doomed"?

The answers to these questions vary from one extreme to the other. If the churches taught TRUTH, there would only be ONE answer for each of these questions.  How is a person to discover WHICH preacher is telling the truth?

Since there are many churches teaching all flavors of doctrine, the easy choice is just to pick the religion that offers the most return for the effort invested.  "You can't out-give God!"  Sounds a lot more attractive than, "Backsliders will go to Hell with no second chance to be redeemed!"  While both doctrines are erroneous, the majority of victims will be drawn into Pentecostalism.  Others will feel a need for chastisement and go to the other extreme.   "Boy, our preacher really 'beat us up' Sunday, but it was good.  We really needed it."

Of course a lot of people will need to feel that they were personally selected by God to be saved and loved, while He condemned the dastardly villains, so they will choose Predestination.  All of these options seem to be acceptable "Christian" alternatives according to major church leaders.

Most lost people are overwhelmed by the myriad of choices and the complexity of the salvation issues that they often just seek out a "professional man of God" that they can place their confidence in to lead them to the path of saving grace.  These professionals have, after all, devoted their lives to the study of the scriptures and the surely are knowledgeable about God's requirements for salvation aren't they"

Wouldn't it be nice if there were someplace a lost seeker could go to learn the truth of THE faith?  With those who have computers, there is the God's Will Made Clear room on Paltalk and now there is the Grace Ministries Web Site and Forum.  We are few and our challenge to the established church doctrines is to examine for themselves, what scripture teaches. I offer many thanks to Grace Teacher Ministries and all those who sacrifice their time and effort to make a difference.

Yes, most people are overwhelmed when it comes to studying the bible and trying to make choices. I suppose this is why we always will have these different religious group around this nation and the world. I think that the loudest group seems to win. Seeking out the "professional man of God" does not mean that he/she will be giving me the truth as to what is in the bible.  I however have found that if I take the time in studying the bible a little closer and ask questions, I will get a better understanding of what God wants from me and what he is giving me. This is why I and my wife have moved in to the Grace movement. We find it more enjoyable when studying the bible and we see and understand what salvation means to us.

Once I get my feet wet a little more on this board, I can see that it will be a big help for us in our walk with the Lord.

Hello All!

I'm Christine too, but hopefully this won't get confusing.  I was referred by someone on yahoo answers after asking if anyone knew of a troll-free forum to talk with other christians.  I'm looking forward to conversing with you all, thanks for the welcome and God Bless!

Good morning all,

It's nice to see another Grace forum available.  I'm a somewhat new member on the Grace Ministries board and saw the link to this one in a thread.  My wife and I have been Les Feldick students for about 3.5 years, but have just recently found other Mid-Acts believers to fellowship with online.  Pre-Les Feldick, we were Southern Baptist, Acts 2:38 believers.  Glenda grew up Southern Baptist, and I was born and raised among the Church of Christ folks.  Without going into the lengthy strory of how I left the Church of Christ sect, I met Glenda at Council Road Southern Baptist in Bethany Oklahoma where she was a member and employee.  The rest is history.

We live in the country in northern Oklahoma, so true Grace congregations are few and far between.  The closest to us is in Stillwater, about an hour away.  For now, our worship comes in the form of studying together, learning from Les about every day, and online study and fellowship.

I look forward to studying through the various threads here.  I'll participate when possible, but I'm coming into a busy time of year, both at work and home, so my responses will probably be slow.

Have a great day!

Hey there, Kab

I have spent the whole night reading from the archives over in G.R.A.C.E. forums and I feel like I already know you! I appreciated your  insightful posts and even saved some to my own personal files...how about THAT?

We are so pleased that you popped over to visit with us, and we trust that you will be edified by the resource material you find here. Since you are pretty well established in the basics, you might be a tad bored with our simplistic approach, but we REALLY want to communicate the GRACE message clearly. Please feel free to jump right on in with any questions or NEW THREADS. Its always exciting to learn from others and to fellowship with like minded believers.  Grin

We too, have no church home, and are quite isolated here in East Tennessee. We are smack dab in the middle of the Bible Belt and surrounded by 137 "churches"...none that teach right division...and most with a tendency towards legalism to the max. "if it was good enuff for grandpa, it is good enuff for me" kind of mentality. Undecided

Ah, I always did enjoy a challenge, didn't YOU? LOL

I hope to get to know you and your wife, Glenda, better as time allows. Feel free to join our ONLINE Bible Study LIVE on Tues and Thurs evenings at 7 PM Central on Paltalk if you want some really good teaching! Let me know its YOU, so I can say HI. My name online is Me4Paul and I am the owner/admin of the room for Pastor Trent Cole's preaching.

Again, its wonderful to see you here, and I hope you will make yourself at home. Cookies/donuts/fresh fruit and coffee or tea are on the back table...help yourself!

Uhoh!  Well, if it's good, it's mine.  If it's not, I plagiarized someone else. Grin

Where abouts?  I just moved my parents to Jackson.  My oldest brother and his wife are taking care of them now.  The parents and bro. and wife are all lifers in the Church of Christ.

You're killin' me!  I'm a low carb eater, so I'm having a scrambled egg/sausage casserole(not the whole thing)and something from my favorite food group...coffee.

Gotta head for work, Christine.  Thanks for the warm welcome and I"ll see you on the boards.
