My Answer from Gods Word:

God never promised to prevent bad things from happening to people. Life is full of good things and bad, and they happen to christian and non christian alike. If God promised to make only wonderful things happen to those who believe, don't you think the entire world would come flocking to Him? Of course they would!

The issue isn't the things that happen to ALL people, but how prepared we are for the inevitable occurances of life and our responses to those things that happen.

God tells the BELIEVER that HE "works all things together for GOOD to them that love Him and who are called according to His purpose". That promise isn't given to the general population.

We are living in a sin cursed world. God has provided the solution in the Crosswork of Christ, but the majority of people aren't listening. Is this somehow Gods fault? He wants people to choose to love Him and listen to Him, NOT to be forced to do so. That is called "free will." If God wanted robots, He would have made robots. Instead He made human beings with the option of CHOICE.

All men are appointed ONCE to die, and then comes the judgement, we are told in the Bible. Since this is true for ALL of us, and we WILL all die, why are we so surprised when it actually happens?Huh

The issue is to be prepared for what comes afterwards. The choice you make with regard to Gods wonderful GIFT of reconciliation with Him thru the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ is what will determine where you spend ETERNITY!

We make the mistake of assuming that we are all somehow "nicer" than God, and more fair.

We AREN'T.

Will you trust Him today?

With that above statement, yes most people are surprised when one of their love one dies or when a famous person dies. And to top it all off, when they do die, in most cases there is nothing but good words said about that person.

The way this world is spinning today, I know that I would rather be with the Lord than down here. However, he has his reasons as to why I am still here so, I will continue to keep my faith in him and keep my walk in him. That is why I am a firm believer in.....

Psalms 118:8  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

That verse says it all for me and I always keep it in mind when I am reading or watching the unfolding events that are going on today. There is nothing we can do about a lot of it so, you might as well keep your mind on things above and not on things down here.

I just came across this thread and it's really good!

I haven't told anyone this before and it's not really surprising as I'm sure it's happened to other Believers.  But I have almost been hit by a couple of vehicles within the past 5 years and they both stopped pretty close to impact.  The first time I was by myself and a sports car ran a red light and came within a few feet of hitting me.

The second time, John was with me, I was driving and I was making a left hand turn.  A car that should have stopped at the red like didn't and came very close to hitting us.

I didn't realize until now that someone wanted me/us dead, of course I know who, but that wasn't in Gods plan for John and I.  Look where He has brought us. . .to know the truth!  I didn't get mad at God for what happened, I was so thankful that He had protected us from harm.  At that time I would have been afraid to die, but not now.

I didn't blame God for what happened on 9/11.  I know there are evil people in the world and Satan uses them to do his destruction.  I just prayed that people would open their eyes to see that they need God and that we don't know when it's our time to go.

As I learn more about His truth and as it starts to penetrate my heart, I have become stronger in Him.  I know there will be other situations that will take place and I believe that our Lord will always be there at the end of it all, working it out for His good!!!
Amen!!!
