My answer:

Oh you are listening to the wrong people. Heaven will be anything BUT boring. I'm actually looking forward to it.

No more sin, no more whining people, no more sickness, or sore backs, no more death, no more taxes or food poisoning, no more "bad days", or bad hair days, no more disappointments or heartaches...wow...sounds pretty exciting to me!

Couldn't have said it better. It seems that everyone now days, are whining about what someone could or should be doing to help them. At least up in heaven we will not have that problem. The rapture can not come soon enough.

1 Corinthians 2:9

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Great insights, all. Smiley

Boring?...uh....no.  Some time ago, I did a lesson for my adult class.  We went through Revelation 21 and 22.  I got excited preparing for the lesson from just reading through those chapters.  I rarely hear a preacher or teacher speak of heaven.  This is a shame.
What is it we hope for?
Where are we going to?
After the rapture...what?
Why don't we hear more about our eternal destination?

Just imagine:
-An eternity's worth of people to talk to about their lives and experiences.

-Gardening without sweating and getting so dirty the wife won't let you in the house.

-So many questions for many in Scripture who played important roles in God's Plan.

-What question(s) will you have for those we've read about in Scripture.

-Have you ever thought what you would you ask King David, Ruth, Solomon, Paul, and a host of others?

Let's hear it!

Have a great evening!

ybiC,
Kab

Hey Kab...I thot that one of the nicest things about heaven would be that we won't HAVE any more questions! We will KNOW as we are KNOWN and things won't be perplexing as they were here when we were still hindered by our finite minds and sinful nature.

Since Israel was never promised heaven, what did you find in Revelation to teach on that had to do with it? I haven't gone into Revelation in a while, I must admit....so please feel free to share.

Heaven as a final destination is uniquely Pauline and has to do with the Body of Christ in this present dispensation. The older I get the more excited I become about going there, although I am not too crazy about having to DIE to do so...I think I would really prefer to be raptured! You will recognize me as the one shouting "yeeeeeeee haw" on the way UP!  Wink

Hi Christine,

Sorry, my functions including the quote bar aren't working, here.  At the bottom of the screen it reads, "Error on page".  No biggie.  It will probably work next time I post.  LOL!

That's Acts 2 residual thinking creeping into my posts, Christine.  LOL!

You know, the first time my wife and I heard about the Heavenly promises of Grace Believers and the earthly promises of Kingdom Believers was from Les Feldick.  When he started talking about some in heaven and some on earth, we both went, "Huh?"  Frankly, I haven't done any study on this and so have not formed a conviction on exactly what will happen.  Do you perhaps have a thread that has addressed this?  If not, I'm all ears to any insight you or anyone here can provide.  I have some thoughts, but I'm heading out the door for the day.

A side note.  You may have noticed on the other board that Sandra has totally rejected the Mid-Acts position and is posting to this effect on another board that she and I both post on.  The discussion is here:
http://www.lawtonprecepts.org/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=d612fa5245a40d3313945eb3a6e46683&topic=454.msg5365#new

It was started a few months ago and fizzled until Jeremy(MercyBreeze)noticed some cross traffic between his board and Lawton Precepts a few weeks ago, so he checked it out and started up the discussion again.  I'd just like to ask that you and anyone else keep Sandra in prayer.  I understand and agree with the Mid-Acts postion, but understanding it and teaching it are two different things.  I'm not far enough along in my studies to feel comfortable particpating in this thread in  more than just a peripheral sense, yet.

Hey, if you'd like to join the discussion, your insight would be incredibly welcome.  Registering is easy.  You can do it here, if you're interested:
http://www.lawtonprecepts.org/smf/index.php

I hope you and your other half have a great Easter!(Pretend there's a smiley here.  LOL!)

ybiC,
Kab

...and a well stocked library
...and good coffee
...and gardens to work in
...and no temperatures above 80 or below 50
...but I'm not picky Grin

Okay....I like your list Kab!

I also like having every tear wiped away....
Being in the presence of our Beloved....
Knowing real and full joy....

I can't even imagine things like judging angels...can you folks?  Do you know where that is in the Bible?

Hi Mari,

I like Kab's list too...and I certainly don't think golfing will be out of the question, wink...

Here is your verse :1 Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

All of us will be given positions of authority in the governmental structure which God has set up in the realm to which we are to be assigned. I believe that how we handled Paul's gospel, and the faithfulness by which we shared that body of truth with others, will determine what those positions are. All in all, it should be much more than any of us could ever imagine, even on a good day...wink.

"Even so, Lord Jesus, Come quickly".... Wink

Hi
After the fallen angels are judged and we are completely rid of sin in heaven, perhaps then is when the golfing and harp playing begins?
Just think.... no sin!  Now, we are bombarded 24/7 with news of sin....
Oh, what a happy day that will be.....

I consider it like this:

To be with the One Who loved me more than I can fathom,
To see His face and actually speak with Him,
To bask in the strength, glory, radiance and yes, the tenderness of His presence...

will be my delight, will satisfy my cravings for Truth and righteousness and will fulfill
all longing to be rid of sin and my self-imposed chains.

Heaven will be simply awesome, because the One who has lavished me with
mind-blowing grace and love, will be the focus of the place.

Now... That's a "Yee-Hawwwwww!!"

What Would Jesus Do? He would have ignored you, you're a Gentile!      Now aren't you glad He sent Paul to the world with a message of grace!
