Good books! It's unfortunate that they aren't normally stocked in the bible book stores. We see mostly "fluffy" books like "The Prayer of Jabez."

Ewwwwwwww...that book is nuts! And people buy it by the truckload...GO FIGURE!
I have found that most of what people buy into as "spritual" and "biblical" is nothing more than "SUPERSTITION" with a religious spin and NO BASIS in FACT!
Scary, aint it?

I got that book as a gift when it came out. Neither Glenda or I got anything from it. We couldn't figure what the fuss was all about!
Reading material? Things That Differ was an eye opener for me! I'm pursuing other Grace writings now.
For the last few years I've been concentrating on several books written by a guy named Paul! They are eye openers!

Oh! I read Pilgrim's Progress, too!
Paul
Bunyan is fantastic.
That is, unless
Paul
McCartney has been doing some writing.
Wait a minute... I know who you're talking about!
The
Apostle
Paul!

I must say that I love Gods Word, but I so appreciate the teachers in the Body who have done such marvelous works for us to read and enjoy and I probably have a copy or two of every one of 'em!

Regarding "the PLOT" bgy Bob Enyart
This book is a MUST for ANY Christian that needs to learn HOW to learn, from the word of God! GOOD stuff!! I find myself not wanting to put it down, like I used to be about novels! That Paul dude y'all were talking about, too...... Wow! To be touched by the risen Christ...... I could only imagine, as the song says....

For those who haven't read "The Pilgrim's Progress" here is the book online:
http://www.ccel.org/ccel/bunyan/pilgrim.toc.html
A lot of folks who attended public schools have never seen the book or have only heard it mentioned in passing. Pilgrim's Progress was prohibited from the shelves when I was growing up as a religious book. Teachers could not talk about it just as they were not allowed to talk about politics. I remember asking our government teacher what "democracy" and "republic" meant and how they differed. He said we couldn't discuss that at school. I finally learned the answer to my question about 3 months ago in an electronic PowerPoint Slideshow after 46 years.
Pilgrim's Progress was much the same. Mercybreeze mentioned it in the post above and I remembered having heard the book mentioned various times over my years. I have never seen a copy of it. When it was said in jest that it was written by "Paul Bunyan" I got curious and looked it up on Wikipedia about an hour ago. I guess I've missed a lot that others take for granted? Anyway, I have decided to read it online so I posted the site so you'uns could too.
Sorry, the Plot isn't online so you'll have to buy that one.
