I have been watching the inaugeration all day today.

It has been surprisingly hopeful.  Also, with some very chilling moments.

My stance is a Biblical one.   I wish him to be a good President and a success for our country.  I pray for him and all our leaders.

In those areas that I believe are against the word of God, such as abortion, to be brief, I will stand up against them.

In those areas that I believe our freedom is being threatened, not secured, I will stand up against them.

How do the rest of you believe?  Or should we move this to another thread?

Mari, as hard as it was for me, that's exactly what I've been doing, praying for the new President.  I don't know what's in store for us, but I'm believing for the best.  I don't want to be like those who gave our former President, hateful and negative comments.

I agree with your biblical stances too.

Hey gals...and guys....LOL

While I am not a very publically vocal person when it comes to politics....here are some of my "opinions" about the present day situation.

I believe that the situation we find ourselves in as a Nation today has been orchestrated purposefully. I believe that the present government is programmed to bankrupt our Nation to force us into a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT...and that there is NO way that whoever is President will ever be able to turn the tide. Is it anyones "fault?" Why play the blame game? We know who the god of this world is, so why are we "surprised?"

It is actually a very exciting time to be living if you believe what the Bible says about God re establishing His reign and rule on earth and in heaven as His overall goal...and of bringing all together IN CHRIST. I say, bring it on, and the sooner the better.

We aren't supposed to be too attached to this world are we? Nor are we to think that we as human beings (the same human beings who got us INTO this mess) are capable of what it takes to get ourselves OUT. That would mean a drastic INNER change which we all know can only be exacted thru an encounter with the One who made us all. While that would be ideal, we all also know that "it aint bound to happen anytime soon."

I will be faithful with the message until the last member of the Body takes his/her place, and then I will be lookin for the UPPERTAKER.....Hallelujah!

How do I believe? Frankly, I believe it's time for me to be bolder. My eyes are wide open. I witness the steady decline of this country toward a stronger oligarchy, presidency by presidency. I used to think "one man can't change much." Well, if all men feel like that then nothing gets changed! I'm the one man. I'll change what I can and stand for what I must. I'll do so judiciously, circumspectly and methodically. I'll not surrender any civil rights any sooner than I'd ask you to. Like the rights to go where I wish to go, talk with whomever, and say what I feel. I cherish these. And I'll exercise them upto the point where they do not encroach upon your rights to do the same. I'll maintain my dignity, and not some ego or pride, by acting responsibly, quickly and thoroughly. I'm the one man. I'll speak graciously and sparingly, and hopefully intelligently. I've no intentions of changing your mind, but if I can improve your situation, I'll lend a hand. The gospel of grace needs no defense. If someone asks, "How do you defend a lion in a cage?" You answer with, "Open the cage door!" Let the lion be what it is. I'll protect my own and provide for my own, and I plan to get bloodied and battered doing so. It's likely I'll be misunderstood a few times too. I'm the one man. I've been given an ambassadorship, and it's time I took it seriously. I intend to live, and to love, as deeply as I can; to be a helper of your joy and to remain teachable. I'll lead where I know and follow where I don't. If there's none to lead, I'll go alone and teach myself along the way. An obscure man once said, "When the destination is settled, it's all about the journey!" Pick your context; it applies. Half of my journey, as far as I can see, is done. I intend to make the remaining half pleasing to Jesus. It's high time I made it clear He was Just in justifying me. I'm the one man, and this is gonna be a great year!

I'm with you Mac.
The real test is standing for the Truth when many around you cave to the pressures of the world and/or the misleading traditions of various religions.
It is standing against the leaders of our country when they go against God's will, perverting and twisting the Truth.
It is standing against those who would turn this country into something it was never created to be.
That's where we are now.  The majority of this nation have gotten what they asked for.

God knew this would happen.  He has known from the beginning that our country, this world, would come to the point it has.  It all serves His purpose, as hard as that may be for us to digest.  It isn't easy seeing what millions have bled and died for being turned into a nightmare of evil by way of worldly greed, deviance, temptations, corrupt power, etc...It makes me incredibly angry.  It is a righteous anger that is relieved only because by God's Grace I know the end of the story.  We know the end of the story.  In the end the most important priority is sharing it with all who will listen.

I'm headin' for some snoozin'.

I agree with your view here, Christine.
Pray for all leaders that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life.... 1 Tim 2:1-5
I know:
We live in an evil world.... Gal 1:3-4
People will be hateful.... 2 Tim 3:1-5
We are in this world, but not of this world.
Eventually, we will have a world government and people are asking for that now.
Meanwhile, I hope to be a good ambassador and have the fruits of the Spirit.  There is no law against these things.
I am waiting for the end of the age of Grace.
Meanwhile:
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you and keep you from evil.... 2 Thess 3:3
And the Lord direct your hearts unto the love of God, and unto the patient waiting for Christ.... 2 Thess 3:5

I don't think we are going to be able to lead a quiet and peaceful life much longer.  Obama gave me chills with some of his speech today....I think he is going to insist we all function to help the new "state".

I am praying for him though.  Psalm 109:8.  How can we abide a man who wants babies to die quietly to the side, to relieve women from having to face what they have done?

I am hoping it will soon be time to go home.
I can't even read some of the news headlines, anymore.  Especially, those concerning abuse or killing of children.

NOW is the time to be about our Fathers Business of "making all men SEE what is the Fellowship of the Mystery...."

No one man got us to this point in history as our battle is "not against flesh and blood..."  but I can tell you ONE THING for sure.

I know the ONE  who will bring us all home and bring all things together IN CHRIST. AMEN?

Absolutely.  That is always our mission.

That's right Christine.  No one man got us to this point.

I would add that as Christians:
-It is our battle to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
-It is our battle to stand for injustice that those that are not Christians often cannot see.
-It is our battle to expose corruption that only serves to decay our union.
-It is our battle, not to be of the world, but definitely be involved in what goes on in the world so that our witness will have greater impact.
