I Cor. 6:12

Now you can insert Scripture into your posts effortlessly. (FYI: This is a third-party mod for the SMF forums--I didn't write it.)

So, let's say you wanted to include verses that indicate Paul is the Apostle to the Gentiles, you might type

[bible ]Ro 11:13[/bible]   (do not add the space before the closing bracket)
[bible ]Eph 3:8[/bible]

...and you'd get

Romans 11:13
For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

Ephesians 3:8
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Or, perhaps you'd like to demonstrate the content of Jesus' gospel, when our Lord was asked how to be saved, you could use

[bible ]Mark 10:17-22[/bible]    (again, use no space before the closing bracket)

...to get

Mark 10:17-22
And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

Hmmm... not much grace there. Just Do... Do... Do...                    (whistling "Da-DO run-run-run, Da-DO run-run"   C'mon, snap your fingers --  Roll Eyes sorry)

A ton of works, yes! Grace? No.
Is this the gospel you tell others? It's from the lips of Jesus Himself! (I'll point out that Jews inherited eternal life while Gentiles receive it instantly, but I digress.)

One of my personal favorite nuggets of truth is this line of thought:

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Romans 3:27-28
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 5:1-2
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

All I had to do was type

[bible ]Eph 2:8-9[/bible]
[bible ]Ro 3:27-28[/bible]
[bible ]Ro 5:1-2[/bible]

Remember you don't use periods in your abbreviations for chapters. Type Ro and not Ro. to indicate the book of Romans. I don't have a list of which abbreviation applies to each chapter, so you'll have to experiment yourself. The entire 23rd Psalm would be

[bible ] Psalm 23 [/bible]

What Would Jesus Do? He would have ignored you, you're a Gentile!      Now aren't you glad He sent Paul to the world with a message of grace!

Thanks, Christine. When I found it, I thought it would be very useful for our forum. Just an easy way to save typing out verses or long passages!
