Understanding the concept of the Triune God: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
God is not constrained to dimensions, He is not constrained to Time, Space, and Mater.
If he could be constrained by these things He is no more a God.
God has no Beginning and no End, so He is not constrained with time.
God is not constrained with quantity of space occupy.
God is not a Mater to touch, feel and see.
Bible says there is only one God.
Deuteronomy 6: 4 – Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.
“Echad” is the Hebrew word used here which means one, oneness, Unified.
Plurality of the God:
Bible also says Godhead as plurality by God speaking among Godhead in Plurality.
Genesis 1: 26 – And God said, Let “US” make man in our image, after “OUR” likeness….
Genesis 11: 7 – Go to, let “US” go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
Psalms 110: 1 – The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Here in the above passages clearly we can see the plurality of the Godhead by the words “US” and “OUR”.
So how we define God as a single person or multi person.
If we want to understand the singularity and plurality of the God, then we have to understand the image of God.
If we want to understand the image of God then we have to understand the image of human being, because Bibles teach us God made man in his own image and likeness.
The Image and likeness does not mean the appearance, because a Indian, a Chinese, a American all look differently and every individual looks different with his or her own identity (image and likeness).
So Physically all are not in the same image. Then what this above verse “we all are created in the Image of God” means.
As bible says every man has the same image and likeness of the God. The man’s image formed by God is said in verse Genesis 2: 7, that he has three parts in him.
Genesis 2: 7 – And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground (BODY), and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (SPIRIT); and man became a living soul (SOUL).
1. Body (Ground)
2. Spirit (Breath)
3. Soul (Living Soul)
I am Mr. X, but one who see me sees my Body which is made up of Ground. Which is going to be perished when I am dead. Everyone who talks to me, touches me, and interact with me as Mr. X. But everything they see, touch, talk, everything is my Body which is only the Ground entity of myself.
The Real Mr. X is the Soul which is the formed being, the out product God Created. It is stays for everlasting, either to everlasting life or to the everlasting death.
No one can see the Real Mr. X which is the Soul inside me. If anybody wants to see Mr. X, they can see me only through my body.
My Soul the real man has the Characters who I am, Feelings what I feel, and contains all my sensation and emotions.
So what every my soul commands the body does. That doesn’t mean my body is getting command and then following, both work equally and simultaneously.
For example if a mosquito bites then you are not listing to the command of the inner man (Soul) saying its paining and the Body the flesh hits the mosquito. All works simultaneously.
When mosquito bites at the moment the soul feels the pain and the body hit the mosquito.
So what Soul feels Body does instantly.
Our Soul cannot be seen by any one, same way no one can see the invisible God, but Bible says God appeared to some people in the Old Testament. Those people says they saw the God and they live. Actually in all the verses they saw the “Angle of the Lord” which was the manifestation of the invisible God in a visible form, same as the visible form of soul as the body.
The “Angle of the Lord” is the physical manifestation of the God:
Genesis 16: 10 – The angel of the LORD also said to her, “I will so greatly multiply your offspring that they cannot be counted for multitude”.
Genesis 16: 13 – She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me”
Genesis 18:1 – The LORD appeared to Abraham by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day.
Genesis 22: 12 – He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me”.
Exodus 3: 2 – There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.
Exodus 3: 6 – He said further, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God
More verses for “The angel of the Lord” speaks as God, identifies Himself with God, and exercises the responsibilities of God (Genesis 16:7-12; 21:17-18; 22:11-18; Exodus 3:2; Judges 2:1-4; 5:23; 6:11-24; 13:3-22; 2 Samuel 24:16; Zechariah 1:12; 3:1; 12:8).
All the above are some examples from the Bible saying the “Angle of the Lord” Saying Himself as the God and doing the things God does, and also the people say.
Jesus is the one who was in the Godhead manifested to human eyes in OT as the Angle of the Lord and manifested in the Gospels as Jesus Christ Son of God.
This is what Jesus is saying in John 14: 9, 10, 11
he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me:
Isaiah 42:8 – I am the LORD, that is My name; My glory I give to no other, nor My praise to idols
Since God will not share His name or glory with anyone else, “The Angle of the Lord” is definitely the God himself in the form of manifestation.
Angles are different from the “Angle of the Lord”. Never in the bible angles mentioned equal are one among the Godhead.
As we have the third entity within us when God created, is the Spirit (Breath/ Air), which also cannot be seen but can only be felt. It holds the union between the Body and the Soul. The Spirit is the functioning entity in our body and without the Spirit we are dead (Separation of the Soul and the Body).
In the Same way the Spirit of the Lord cannot be seen, but we can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is the entity in the God head which interlinks unseen God the Father and the Seen Christ the Son.
Luke 1: 35 – And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
1. The Father (Most Highest)
2. The Holy Spirit (Ruha)
3. The Son (Jesus Christ / OT “The Angle of the Lord”)
Why the God has to come in human form;
As a unseen God he cannot come under Time, Space and Matter.
In that case He cannot die for the sins of mankind. So He incarnated himself in human form according to the will of the unseen God the Father, through the over shading presence of the unseen Holy Spirit and came to the visible manifestation as the Son Jesus Christ.
He humbled himself so that He can come under Time, Space and Matter.
So that He (The God) can die for the Sins of the mankind and make redemption for him.
For human the Soul is unseen and everlasting, Spirit is also unseen and goes back to God, but the only Body can be seen and it can die.
Same way in the Godhead the only entity which can die is Jesus Christ the Son who has humbled himself and came under the Time, Space and Matter, leaving the Godhead natures, died for our sins.
Since He is God the death cannot overrule Him. He rose from the death and entered in His Glory which is the Godhead nature.
Philippians 2:8 – And being found in the fashion of a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death—even the death of the cross.
The human has three entities within himself, which cannot be separated and all three has different roles, different natures, and different functions, but all are together called as a single human and they cannot be separated and all three are equal within them.
Same way the three entities in the Godhead are The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. All three has different roles, different natures, and different functions, but all are together called as a single God and cannot be separated and all are equal within them.
Three separate entities in one single unit. Plurality within Singularity.
This is the image of God in which man was created.
This is the God, the single Triune God We worship.
